Please join us for an in-depth Zoom discussion Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 5:45 - 7:00PM focused on immigration law and civil rights. We are honored to have both our District Attorney, Michael Dougherty, as well as immigration lawyer, Hans Meyer, join us to speak about this timely issue.
Michael has served as District Attorney of Boulder County since 2018. Under Michael’s leadership, the team at the DA’s Office has received several awards for their efforts. Notably, Michael received the Innocence Project’s Award for Advocate for Innocence and Justice. Additionally, Michael has helped establish problem-solving courts and diversion programs. Also, he recently served as the DA Representative on the School Safety Resource Center Advisory Board. He is an adjunct professor for CU Law School.
Hans Meyer is the founder of the Meyer Law Office, P.C. His practice specializes in immigration law and removal defense, criminal defense and post conviction relief, the immigration consequences of crimes, and the civil rights of immigrants. Hans advocates for the statutory and constitutional rights of immigrants before various immigration agencies and state and federal courts, often against governmental and institutional abuses of power. He is a former trial attorney with the Colorado State Public Defender, where he became an expert in the field of immigration law and developed a statewide immigration advisement system for indigent noncitizen defendants. Hans also served as the former Director of Public Policy for the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, where he focused on local, state, and national immigration policy.
As a reminder, our January, February and March meetings are Zoom only so you can participate from the comfort of your home or anywhere. Registration is only $10. Our members who are RBG and Kamala Harris levels will receive a coupon code in a separate email.
